Short Cut

Short Cut is a backcountry campsite in Everglades National Park, accessible by canoe or kayak through the park's waterways. True to its name, this site is situated along a route that offers paddlers a more direct connection between sections of the park's extensive water trail network, making it a useful waypoint for multi-day trips. Overnighting in the Everglades backcountry is a rare and special experience — you are sleeping in the middle of a living, breathing subtropical wilderness. All backcountry visitors must obtain a permit from the park and be self-sufficient for food, water, and navigation.
